What are friends for?

This phrase is one I have heard over a million times since I was mature enough to understand. It's what we use when we do something for our friends and we just want to let them know it was our pleasure helping.  So for a while now, I've been putting off an invite to hang out with someone but sometime recently, I decided to go on with it. To my surprise, it wasn't a total disaster. He made a lot of sense as regards our personality, the friends we keep and who we become as a result of the kind of friends we have. Here's his opinion; the kind of person you links you up to the kind of people you make your friends. This set of people then reflect on who you become. For example, a student doesn't know much and has poor grades in school but then begins to make friends with the intelligent people or person in the class. This relatioship begins to make positive impacts on his studies and his grades also begins to improve. We make a lot of friends everyday, some by

The eminent part of responsibility

In my years as a secondary school student, I was the only child at home with my parents because my other siblings were in boarden house in their respective schools. I learnt to work my chores into my school activities to ensure everything was well attended to. I remember onetime when I had an exam and I didn't want to cook because I really wanted to just read for the exam, I was told that people who write exams also have to eat. It wasn't so easy doing all those chores and still doing well in school but I did and I'm happy about all the lessons I learnt then because they helped me to form habits that are invaluable now. They made me responsible for things even when I feel it's something I shouldn't be bothered about. Responsibility was the lesson and is still the key. Responsibility is a requirement expected of a person as regarding something. It is a response to something, a trait of being answerable to someone. It spreads through all areas of life i

5 Signs you're being irresponsible

When I was younger, I had a neighbor who had children. Each child had a task to perform everyday after returning from school. It was such that when something hasn't been done, there's someone to hold responsible. This helped to keep every one up and doing in their respective tasks. When every member of a family or organization is responsible for something in particular, it brings about a smooth running of the group. However, when no one is held accountable for anything, no one can be questioned or held responsible for something going wrong. In addition to the responsibility of individuals within a group, there's also personal responsibility as explained in  the eminent part of responsibility . When you live with a habit for so long, it becomes a norm to you that you don't realize it's a bad habit. Irresponsibility is one of those habits that need to be worked on for you to live a happy life. There are signs that reveal an irresponsible person. No mat

Positivity through Words

The words we speak are descriptions of what we intend to do and revelation of who we are. Most of the times, our words preceed what we plan to do. We speak daily about what we want to do, where we want to go, our desires and dreams, the choices we make and the things we don't want to do. And these end up as a driving force in our lives. We are surrounded daily by friends, family, colleagues and even strangers. Some of them or us even speak without considering the impact of what we say to people, organizations and the nation while some don't. It is therefore very important for us to be careful what we say because our words are powerful. The words you speak does not just affect your life alone. It also affects the people around you. Words can be either be destructive or constructive; they can inspire or destroy; they can help, heal, hinder, hurt, harm, humiliate and or humble. They have so much power that they can start or end wars between nations; destroy relat

What Can Make You Misdiagnose?

Signs and symptoms, physical examination and investigations help a healthcare professional to arrive at a diagnosis for every patient they come across. This diagnosis can be nursing diagnosis or medical diagnosis, which ever one, they go together.  Having a correct diagnosis is paramount in any encounter or consultation between a patient and a healthcare professional. This is because diagnosis directs the treatment regimen best suitable for the patient.  The process of diagnosis is as follows; a patient meets with a medical personnel with some signs (as identified by the medical personnel) and symptoms (as described by the patient).
